No clean garden waste accepted at Killarney Drop-off until further notice

22 December 2025

Green waste removal clients are advised that Killarney Drop-off is not currently able to accept any loads of garden waste, such as trees, garden greens, branches, etc. due to capacity limits.

Typically, for green waste, three loads with a 1,5 tonne vehicle capacity weight limit are allowed per day. However with immediate effect, and for a limited period, the Killarney Drop-off cannot accept any loads of green waste.

This decision comes as a result of the surface of the road and chipping area needing repairs, which are hampered by the growing stockpiles of garden waste, which has accumulated during the recent busy period.

Alternative sites:

  • Vissershok Landfill site (businesses)
  • Welgelegen Drop-off Facility (residents)
  • De Grendel Drop-off Facility (residents)
  • Tygerdal Drop-off Facility (residents)

The City regrets the inconvenience and will provide updates on when Killarney is able to receive green waste again.

See the City’s drop-offs and waste guidelines here.
